We’ve covered a fair amount of ground in this space already. Today isn’t about adding to it. It’s about something lighter: an experiment.

Here’s what we know, without needing to dig deep to find it. Nature’s complexity holds together because every part of it still answers to the whole it’s part of. Ours often doesn’t, and the natural world is losing pieces of itself at a pace it has never had to absorb before, not in the two million years we’ve shared with it.

You don’t need another fact to know that’s true. You already do.

So here’s the experiment instead. No new method. No system to learn. No layer to add on top of what’s already here. For two million years, before civilization arrived, we lived inside a plain, felt sense of connection, to ourselves, to each other, to the ground under us. That experience never required anything from us but attention. It still doesn’t.

What if, just for a day, you actively noticed it? Not building it. Not fixing it. Not trying to explain it in words the way I’m doing right now. Just acknowledging what’s already there, the way you’d notice your own breathing the moment someone mentions it.

And what if the simplest possible answer turns out to be the true one here too? That some of what our complexity has broken starts correcting itself the moment enough of us start remembering the connection sitting quietly underneath our complexity, a little at a time, without effort, without a method at all.

No proof offered here. Just a day, and an invitation to spend it finding out.

This idea sits at the center of Chapter 7 of The Lens That Changes Everything. If it’s the kind of thing that stays with you, Being Jonas Wilder brings it into the room, live.
