A volunteer role with commission — and a real path to creating your own paid position within the Alliance.

Done well, this role becomes the case for its own salary. You'll be building something real: a track record of booked shows, strong relationships with venues, and a growing body of proof that this mission belongs in more rooms.

What You'll Be Doing

We have one Alliance representative show fully rehearsed and ready to book: Being Jonas Wilder. It scales from living rooms to auditoriums, and the message lands the same way whether there are ten people in the room or a thousand.

We've already identified our first wave of target venues — nonprofit spaces and Unitarian Universalist churches, which are an ideal fit for this show. We've built a database with names, and in many cases emails and phone numbers, for all of them. We've also drafted rudimentary call scripts, so you'll have what you need to make the calls, book the shows, and walk venues through the simple paperwork and agreements we've already created.

You'll get a CRM seat and the ability to call directly from the CRM or your mobile device. You'll log every call and its outcome in the CRM, so we can track progress and success together as we go.

Who We're Looking For

Someone who can honestly say they're in alignment with the Alliance's mission: creating content and experiences that inspire people to rediscover their connection to each other, to themselves, and to life.

That probably makes you an idealist. In today's media environment, some people would call that "woke" — and here, we mean that as a compliment.

You don't need to already be an expert with technology. You just need to be the kind of person who's confident finding your way through modern communication and collaboration tools, because you can see the common patterns across most of them.

You are:

  • A self-starter
  • Likely someone with a high "I" on the DISC profile. Don't know yours? The link will tell you for free.
  • Not likely an introvert — though if you are, you've built real confidence and comfort in social interaction, especially when you have a framework or script to work from
  • Organized
  • Collaborative, or genuinely drawn to becoming more collaborative, even without much experience yet
  • Able to follow direction
  • Comfortable suggesting a change in that direction when you see one, and able to make the case for why it's a good idea

Whether you need this role to generate real income or you're in a season of life where contributing to the mission matters more than the paycheck, you belong here. What matters most is that you're good at it, and that you genuinely enjoy the process. Plenty of people are skilled at outreach and booking without loving it. This mission needs someone who does. The better you are, and the more you enjoy it, the faster this becomes real income and real impact.

Where This Leads

This role isn't a fixed job description. It's an open one, and you're the person shaping it.

As you work, you'll be confirming what works, revising what doesn't, and optimizing the process as you go. You're not just filling a role. You're building it.

Success here isn't measured by activity. It's measured by a track record: events booked and completed, and the revenue those events generate, not just for the Alliance, but for the venue on the revenue-share side and for you, as the ambassador and booker.

Once we have a real track record to look at, we'll be able to see the actual margin this role creates. From there, calculating a salary and benefits for a permanent position within the Alliance becomes straightforward, because the numbers will make the case on their own.

This role sits on the front line of our impact. When it succeeds, that success is easy to point to, and easy to build on.

Tools You'll Use

  • Google Workspace
  • HubSpot CRM
  • Zadarma Phone Dialer

We also use large language model tools (what's commonly called AI) in one very specific way: we never ask them to do our work for us. We do the work first, then ask the tools to organize and polish it, without adding or subtracting any information.

This distinction matters because our mission requires lived experience, and no language model has that. What these tools do have is expertise in organization, grammar, structure, and voice. We treat them like a skilled editor, not a source of information or ideas.

Our current AI tools:

  • Notebook LM (built into Workspace)
  • Gemini (built into Workspace)
  • Claude, from Anthropic
  • Canva AI, mostly for blog post imagery

How Compensation Works

We're starting with $20 for every scheduled event that doesn't cancel. Ideally, events are booked at least four weeks out.

Completed shows also generate merchandise sales, and that revenue funds a further commission for you: up to $150 per completed show, based on a percentage of sales net revenue.

How Revenue Works With Venues

We're offering venues a range of revenue-share options, because we're not interested in renting space. A rental is transactional — landlord and tenant. We're looking for win-win partnerships with venues that share our values around bringing high-quality & transformative content to their audiences and communities.

What We Bring to the Table

Right now, for the existing show Being Jonas Wilder, we bring:

  • Two books: The Echo and the Voice, by J.W. Kindbloom (Mark Firehammer's pen name), and The Lens That Changes Everything, nonfiction by Mark Firehammer
  • The album Songs in the Key of Return by Jonas Wilder, all songs composed by Mark Firehammer over 40 years
  • Two legacy albums by Mark Firehammer, for audiences interested in the performer's earlier work

Here's something worth knowing: this show isn't limited to one performer. The entire framework, script, music charts, and lyrics are written out and ready for anyone, young or old, ambitious enough to learn the role and step into Being Jonas Wilder themselves.

That's an ideal outcome. If a show inspires someone in the communities where we perform to learn the role, we'll book that performer too — multiplying the reach of the mission and the message through an entirely new show.

Beyond the Show: The Pantry

The Alliance also maintains a library we call the Pantry. Everything in it is designed to be learned, presented, and performed by anyone who wants to bring it to their own audience. We call the people who do this Champs.

Champs who perform or facilitate a Pantry provision benefit from the same $10,000/month marketing budget Google has granted the Alliance. They're serving the mission, and at the same time, serving their own personal mission to make a difference, even with content they didn't create themselves.

One of the best ways to learn how to build purpose-driven creative content is to learn founder Mark Firehammer's own method, developed over a lifetime:

  • The Champ Creation Framework
  • The Spark Connectivity Event
  • The Four R's, a process for relating to anything in an imaginative, nonthreatening way that doesn't require anyone to change their existing beliefs

It's simply another tool in the belt.

Pantry Provisions are the transmissible artifacts of connection and the first layer of Alliance value.

our humanity is the common thread

Restoring Connection Through Creative Awakening

The alliance is a movement of makers, storytellers, musicians, artists, and visionaries reclaiming what the world has forgotten— our inner voice, our shared humanity, and the power of remembering together.

Be an ally.

Allyship takes many forms. A financial gift helps us build and sustain these tools. Sharing this work helps it travel — into conversations, classrooms, studios, and communities we may never reach on our own.

If something here mattered to you, consider passing it along. That simple act is one of the most powerful ways to stand with this work.
