Katrina Hawley is a Certified Movement Analyst by the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies (LIMS), a Certified Pilates Teacher through the Pilates Method Alliance, and a senior educator with Polestar Pilates International. She is a graduate of the Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation program and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Temple University. Katrina has also completed an extensive 200-hour course in structural integration and advanced anatomy with renowned educator and author Thomas Myers.

A dedicated somatic practitioner and educator, she has studied with leaders in the field including Janis Pforsich, Aliza Shapiro, Charlotte Wile, Irene Dowd, and Martha Eddy. She is a Registered Somatic Movement Educator (RSME) through ISMETA, where she currently serves on the Board of Directors, and previously co-directed HawleyMartin Dance (2001–2006).

As co-owner of The Pilates Studio, Pilates Business Pros, and Fitstreams, Katrina has been at the forefront of transforming boutique fitness. During the pandemic, she helped design a multi-angle livestream production suite that enabled movement teachers to reach clients worldwide, expanding access and reshaping inclusion in the fitness space. She also serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Hartford’s Hartt School Dance Division.

Katrina is a cofounder of Creative Humanity Alliance, where her embodied perspective helps shape cultural projects rooted in creativity, story, and expression. Among the first fruits of this collaboration is Feelness—a body-first well-being system developed with fellow cofounder Mark Firehammer. Katrina’s deep expertise in somatic movement and teaching provided the technical foundation for Feelness, while Mark contributed systems thinking and user-centered design. Together, they created an approach to movement that empowers those left behind by traditional fitness to reconnect with freedom, resilience, and choice.

Through the Alliance, Katrina now brings her lifelong dedication to movement into larger cultural initiatives, designing tools and experiences that reflect our human capacity to relate, adapt, and reconnect—with ourselves, with one another, and with the world.

Restoring Connection Through Creative Awakening

The alliance is a movement of makers, storytellers, musicians, artists, and visionaries reclaiming what the world has forgotten— our inner voice, our shared humanity, and the power of remembering together.

Be an ally.

Allyship takes many forms. A financial gift helps us build and sustain these tools. Sharing this work helps it travel — into conversations, classrooms, studios, and communities we may never reach on our own.

If something here mattered to you, consider passing it along. That simple act is one of the most powerful ways to stand with this work.
