Description:
The Choreography of Connection is a living performance framework that traces humanity’s 10,000-year journey from shared belonging to collective fragmentation—and the remembering that follows. Part history, part myth, and part meditation, it gives choreographers, dancers, composers, puppeteers, shadow performers and visual artists a complete timeline of sensory and emotional cues that can be reimagined in any movement language.
Each production becomes a mirror: showing audiences what it looks and feels like when the body itself tells the story of disconnection, and what happens when it finally remembers.
Connection & Use
How It Strengthens Connection
This provision turns dance into a cultural remembering exercise. By embodying the rise of disconnection—and its slow unwinding through rhythm, breath, and shared presence—it helps both performers and audiences sense that connection is not a belief but a physical truth the body still carries. Whether staged in a theater, classroom, or open field, the work restores empathy across time, reminding us that the same pulse that began and predates civilization still beats within us
Who It’s For
This resource is for choreographers, educators, and performance artists who want to use movement as a tool for cultural healing. It’s equally for puppeteers, shadow art performers, and animators — anyone who brings motion to matter and life to light. Traditions like Chinese shadow puppetry and Chamdyacha Bahulya from India remind us that storytelling through movement has always transcended the boundaries of form and medium.
It’s also for universities, community ensembles, and cross-disciplinary teams exploring the intersection of art, history, and human development. You don’t need to be a dancer to engage with it — musicians, lighting designers, storytellers, and visual artists can all enter through their own creative language and contribute to the remembering.
How to Use It
Download the full manual and treat it as a creative framework rather than a script. Each movement provides historical reference points, sensory anchors, and interpretive guidance that can be adapted to any style—from ballet to butoh, from hip hop to contemporary improvisation. Dance companies may present the work as written, expand it into a full multimedia piece, or select specific movements as standalone studies in connection and loss. When used regularly, The Choreography of Connection becomes less a guide and more a practice—one that turns every rehearsal, performance, and shared breath into a small act of cultural remembering.
Also included: a companion Poetic Performance Script — a narrative edition of the work designed for live narration, projection, or voiceover. It mirrors the same eleven-movement arc in lyrical form, allowing dance companies to merge movement and language as one act of remembering.
A Living Invitation
Choreographers, dancers, schools, and multidisciplinary ensembles are invited to make it their own.
Whether you stage a simple, intimate performance or a sweeping multimedia journey, the Creative Humanity Alliance can serve as your fiscal partner and promotional amplifier — helping you raise the funds, assemble the community, and reach the audiences your art deserves.
Through our peer-to-peer fundraising model, your dance company, class, or collective can rally local supporters to bring your vision to life. The Alliance provides fiscal sponsorship for tax-deductible donations and invests real advertising dollars (via our Google Ads Grant) to promote your production and recordings worldwide.
Because when connection becomes the rule again, the art that emerges doesn’t just move people — it moves humanity forward.
You bring the vision. We help make it visible.
